The pep rally hyped the Rattler football team for a game on Friday, September 28th. Our boys played a thrilling game against league opponent La Quinta. The game was a big shock for the Rattlers. They worked their hardest, but came up short with a 17-21 defeat.
Before the game, head coach L.D. Matthews said, “The boys are excited to get on the field and work their hardest.” The excitement was there and they played a tough, physical game, but it was not enough for the win.
According to The Desert Sun, “A loss on their own turf in the league opener was tough to swallow as they hadn’t lost a league game at Jerry Argovitz Stadium since 2014.”
This was a big deal for Matthews and his team, but he is still hopeful that his team will get back on track. “A team needs to have good work ethic, leadership and a desire to keep getting better. The Rattler football team definitely has all of those qualities and they will get better and better everyday.”
The next game for the Rattlers will be against on the road against a tough Xavier Prep team looking for another league win.
